WHO AM I ?

usually hiding behind the camera

My name is Christian Uhrig and I am, besides a few other things, a professional photographer.

Working all over the world and calling Australia "home" is a great privilege. Being able to take photos of Australia's wonderful people, nature and landscapes, adds to the excitement.

This website has been created to share the photos with other creatives who are looking for imagery for their work. Please feel free to contact me with any specific requests.

Recent photo projects brought me to Parkes, Tenterfield, Lismore, The Channon, Terania Creek, Newcastle, Perth, the Pilbara, the Wheatbelt Region, Margaret River, North QLD, Europe, Noosa, Byron Bay and I have just moved into a new home in the Byron Bay Hinterland - Terania Creek.

A PASSION

My Father is my inspiration, with his LEICA M4 he captured landscapes, people and events - at a time when the word "digital" was not invented. I started as a freefall photographer and now follow in his footsteps.

PUNCTUAL

Must be the residual German in me. Someone once said "it is as difficult to be on time than it is to be late". I am usually a few minutes early, always ready and have taken some awesome shots that way - right place - right time.

AWARDED

Won a few of those too - and yet, it is always the NEXT good photo that motivates me.

From the few hundred thousand photos I have taken I look back at a handful of really good ones that I have printed and framed for myself.

CREATIVE

Photgraphy comes from the greek and means "painting with light" and thats all there is to it.

I never let the technology or circumstances get in the way of a good lightpainting.
